Watercolor, gauche, paint pen, and ink on 9″ x 12″ sketchbook paper.
In this piece I decided to play around with color, shape, and pattern a little more. I decided to use a combination of watercolor for the background in a beautiful blush pink I created, and gauche to paint the leaves and petals. I then went in with paint pen and ink to define the pattern and the lines. The water in the paint caused the page to curl, but I don’t mind it. I love the visual effect this takes in the center with the play between the colors and patterns.
